Read Write Inc. Phonics | Get Writing (ages 4 - 7)

Read Write Inc. Phonics (also known as Ruth Miskin Literacy or RML) is a comprehensive synthetic phonics programme that teaches reading, writing and spelling. Suitable for children aged 4 - 7, but can also be used with 8 - 9 year olds for catch-up intervention.

The programme includes a range of teaching resources and decodable reading books (fiction and non-fiction). The Get Writing! books contain a wide range of writing activities that are specifically linked to these books and give the opportunity for children to embed their phonic knowledge, spelling, punctuation and compose texts.

Read Write Inc. Spelling Programme (ages 6 - 11)

Read Write Inc. Spelling (new edition) is a fast-paced, systematic spelling programme that is suitable for use in schools for pupils who have completed Read Write Inc. Phonics (or similar phonics programme).

Spelling rules and concepts are introduced by aliens from an exciting online spelling planet. Resources to complement the online element include a comprehensive Teacher's Handbook , Practice Books full of structured activities and lively illustrations and Log Books to record individual progress and build a home/school link.

Read Write Inc. Literacy & Language (ages 6 - 11)

Read Write Inc. Literacy and Language is a complete school literacy programme for years 2 to 6 that is matched to the new curriculum.

It develops children’s comprehension, vocabulary, writing, critical thinking and discussion skills and provides teachers with explicit guidance in how to teach grammar – in a fun and meaningful way.

It enables all children to make excellent progress in literacy with most children achieving a NC level 5 and above at the end of year 6.

Read Write Inc. Fresh Start phonics (catch-up intervention age 9+)

Read Write Inc. Fresh Start is a synthetic phonics intervention programme for pupils in years 5, 6 and 7 working below NC Level 3. The programme gives older children who have not yet cracked the 'code of reading' the chance to catch up and become confident, fluent readers - enabling them to access the secondary curriculum. Ideal for paired / group work or working one to one with a pupil.

Using all the strategies that are so successful in Read Write Inc. Phonics, children are taught the 44 sounds systematically in lively, fast paced phonics lessons and quickly start to sound blend them to read words.

Fresh Start Modules and anthologies provide specially written age-appropriate stories and non-fiction texts which the children have the phonic knowledge to read, building their confidence from the start. Writing is developed alongside reading.

Jolly Phonics | Jolly Grammar | Music (ages 3 - 10)

JOLLY PHONICS (for children aged 3 - 6), is a fun and child centred approach to teaching reading and writing that is known worldwide and used by many schools throughout the UK. With actions for each of the 42 letter sounds, the multi-sensory method is very motivating for children and teachers and leads to outstanding results. Jolly Phonics includes lots of child (and parent!) friendly resources, making this an ideal programme to use at home.

JOLLY GRAMMAR (for children aged 6 to 10), is the next stage after Jolly Phonics and provides resources for the systematic teaching of spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary.
