Dandelion Books

These lovely high quality books are proving to be very popular with parents and teachers alike. They will give your child the best start in reading and can be used with any phonic programme to give confidence in blending sounds to read words.

There are 4 books at each level and each level introduces new sounds. Dandelion Launchers follow the same progression as the Dandelion Readers but be used for very young readers or for readers who need lots of practice at the first stages of reading. For this reason, there is one line of text on each page.

Dandelion Readers complement and follow on from the Dandelion Launcher series, and present highly decodable texts that children can read by sounding out and blending. These lovely high quality books and accompanying activites can support any phonics programme.

With minimal sight words and text on a cream background to make it reader friendly, these motivating stories have appealing characters and imaginative illustrations. Each book includes a games page to stimulate further reading practice.

This series takes older, reluctant readers from the CVC words through to vowel digraphs. (Phases 2-5 of Letters and Sounds). Interest age 8 - 14

Totem series is an exciting, fresh start for older pupils that builds up their reading skills from CVC (consonant/vowel/consonant) level. This highly-structured, cumulative series includes 12 books which cover the essential phonics foundations that a 'catch-up' reader will need.

It precedes and builds up towards the Talisman Series. Designed to appeal to older reluctant readers with exciting and motivating stories and illustrations.

Ideal for older readers who have gaps in their phonic knowledge (interest age 8-14).

Following on from the Totem Series, the Talisman Series 1 and Series 2 introduce more alternative spellings for the vowel and consonant sounds (following Phase 5 and 6 of the ‘Letters and Sounds’ programme).
