|Making A Purchase|
We accept payment in 3 ways:
- Online payment by debit/credit card via WorldPay (we cannot take card payment by telephone)
- By cheque (UK customers only)
- By purchase order (UK schools / educational establishments only)
PAYMENT VIA WORLDPAY
To take online payments securely we use WorldPay. We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro/Switch, Visa Electron and Delta cards.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept Amex cards.
When you click Checkout Now you will go through to the shipping confirmation, and then the payment selection screen. If you choose to pay by WorldPay, you will be asked to click on a logo which matches your card and you will then be taken through to the WorldPay Secure Payment page.
Fill in the details as requested on the page, carefully checking for any errors. You MUST amend your BILLING Address if it is incorrect. The address you enter is used to confirm your identity. This is done by checking the details held by your card issuer against those given. If you enter an address which is not your billing address, you may be asked to provide further identification which may slow down your order.
When you submit your details, they will be checked. If the pre-authorisation is accepted, you will see a confirmation on-screen, and receive an email confirmation from WorldPay.
We hold a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Certificate of Compliance.
PAYMENT BY CHEQUE
If you wish to pay by cheque, you can choose to do so in the drop-down menu (instead of 'Payment by WorldPay'). Please print off your order confirmation and post to us with your cheque for the full amount to: Focus on Phonics Limited, Wheelwrights, 33 Wheelers Lane, Brockham, Betchworth, RH3 7LA. Cheques should be made payable to 'Focus on Phonics Limited'. If making payment by cheque, please write your address on the reverse of the cheque. Please bear in mind that it will take several extra working days for your order to be received and your payment processed.
PAYMENT BY PURCHASE ORDER
We do accept UK school purchase orders (on school or education authority headed notepaper) by mail or by fax (01737 842017). Please note that if your invoice is to be paid by your LEA, you must provide a Purchase Order number for the order. An invoice will be sent out with your goods - payment terms are 30 days from the invoice date.
We reserve title to any goods shipped until we receive payment in full for them. Schools can request inspection copies by prior arrangement, but please note that any goods not required are returned at school's own cost.
|Shipping And Handling|
UK DELIVERY RATE
For our purposes, the UK includes England (inc. Highlands and Islands), Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and all BFPO addresses.
Delivery to customers in the UK is free for orders over £35 excluding VAT - i.e. the net amount of the order is over £35 before VAT has been added (VAT will apply to non-book items such as games, DVDs and CDs). For orders of £35 or less (excluding VAT), we charge £2.95 per order. The VAT rate for delivery charges is calculated in proportion to the VAT on the goods supplied.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY RATES
If you are ordering from the the Republic of Ireland, Europe or other World-wide destination, delivery costs are dependent on the size and weight of the parcel and the country it is being delivered to. Please contact us for a shipping quotation prior to placing your order.
For Channel Island customers, the standard UK delivery charge of £2.95 will initially be applied to the order (if the order is £35 or less before VAT has been added). We may need to contact you prior to despatch to request an additional shipping contribution if the actual shipping cost is substantially more than the standard charge applied to your order.
Please note that, due to the high costs of an international courier shipment, if a parcel is returned to us because it has not picked up by the customer or delivery is refused by the customer then the courier costs (including the return charge made by the courier company) will be deducted from any refund.
Goods will be despatched as soon as possible on receipt of the order as most items are held in stock - this is usually on the same or next available working day.
For UK destinations:
We use Royal Mail Parcel post (estimated 1 - 3 working days), Royal Mail Tracked Packet (estimated 3 - 4 working days) or ParcelForce courier service (1 - 2 working days) depending on the size and weight of the parcel. You will receive an email giving details of the likely delivery date once your order has been despatched.
If you are unlikely to be at home during the day for a delivery, we are able to deliver to a different address (eg. work / school or neighbour). Please give details when placing your order.
Please note that we do NOT advise customers to add a shipping note requesting that the parcel be left outside the property. If you do request this and a parcel sent by Royal Mail goes missing, we cannot accept responsibility for relacement items.
For non-UK destinations:
Airmail will normally be used for orders weighing up to 1kg. International courier service will be used for orders exceeding this weight.
We aim to deliver your order as soon as possible using these methods. To avoid disappointment, you should, however, allow 15 days for delivery - particularly at busy times during the year (such as Christmas). We will of course contact you if there is likely to be any delay in despatching your items.
If an item is "Out of stock" we will advise you as soon as possible and place the item on order. You will be given the option, by email, to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
ORDERS FOR DELIVERY TO UK CUSTOMERS AND OTHER CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE EUROPEAN UNION.
Prices quoted on our website include VAT (where applicable) for UK and other customers within the EU.
The VAT rate on books delivered to customers within the EU is 0%.
The VAT rate for non-book items such as games, tapes and CDs is 20%.
The VAT rate for delivery charges is calculated in proportion to the VAT on the goods supplied.
If you buy products containing a book and an item such as a CD-ROM (mixed media), the VAT charged is dependent on the proportion of the total cost subject to VAT. The VAT rate on delivery reflects the VAT rate of the items we are sending you.
ORDERS FOR DELIVERY TO CUSTOMERS FROM THE CHANNEL ISLANDS (JERSEY AND GUERNSEY)
As the Channel Islands are part of the United Kingdom, VAT will automatically be applied to your order. As VAT is not payable in the Channel Islands, we are able to refund the VAT amount after your order has been placed.
ORDERS FOR DELIVERY TO CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION
For orders outside the EU, VAT is generally not chargeable. Destinations outside the EU may be subject to import duty. These are not included in our prices and are the responsibility of customers to pay on or after receipt of goods.

To take online payments securely we use WorldPay. Your card details are kept completely secure - we don't even get to see them. We hold a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Certificate of Compliance. We are unable to take debit/credit card payments by telephone.

If you have any complaints about our service or any goods you purchase from us please contact us or write to us. We aim to deal with any complaint in a fair, confidential and efficient manner, within 5 working days of receiving it.
CANCELLING AN ORDER
If you wish to cancel your order before it has been despatched to you please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will cancel it without charge.
We hope that you will be fully satisfied with the goods that you have bought. However, if you do wish to return any items from your order, please do so within 14 days of receipt, un-marked and un-damaged (in resalable condition) for either a full refund of the value of the goods (plus original delivery charge if appropriate) or an exchange.
If you receive goods that are faulty or have been damaged in transit, please let us know straight away and we will either offer you a full refund or replace the goods at our cost.
PLEASE NOTE THAT, UNLESS THE GOODS ARE FAULTY OR SENT IN ERROR, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF RETURNING GOODS TO US.We recommend you use recorded delivery and obtain insurance, as proof of posting is not proof of receipt.
Please note that any product packaging (e.g. on CD-ROMS, tapes, etc.) must be unopened (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact) for us to be able to issue a refund. We can only accept the return of opened packaged items if they are faulty.
By law, customers located in the European Union also have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within a cooling off period of seven working days from the day after the date the item is delivered.
Refunds are normally processed within 7 days of receipt.
